The first domino of the 2018 free agency period has fallen.
The Los Angeles Lakers were looking to make a splash in free agency by acquiring Paul George, Kahwai Leonard and LeBron James, but George won’t be one of them.
According to ESPN’s NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the 6-foot-9 free agent forward who averaged 21.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.0 steals per game last season has committed to staying with the Oklahoma City Thunder, inking a new deal to stay with Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony.
Paul George has committed to sign a deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder, league sources tell ESPN.

George made the announcement at a Russel Westrbook hosted party in Oklahoma City on Saturday night, telling the crowd on hand “I’m here to stay.”
Per reports, the Lakers have turned their focus towards going after Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins in place of the now off-the-table George.
