ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith wasn’t a fan of the team firing Steve Wilks after just one season at the helm in Glendale, and was equally as furious with the team’s hire.
The team filled their vacancy with Kliff Kingsbury, who to Stephen A’s defense, has almost a laughable head coaching resume for someone who got offered an NFL head coaching position.
The reporter and radio host went off on Kingsbury and his ‘Bachelor-esque’ looks, and the Cardinals clapped back with an amazing tweet referring to Smith’s brain-fart dating back to the regular season when he mentioned Hunter Henry (who’s been injured all season) as the key matchup against another player who was released in February during the Chiefs-Chargers Week 15 game.
This DUDE Kliff Kingsbury looks like a better candidate to be on the BACHELOR than a head coach of a football team, DAMNIT! pic.twitter.com/WYOG3DRRM8

We thought you would be in a good mood since the Chargers activated Hunter Henry this week. https://t.co/lkVzzDwEa2

I don’t care how many mistakes I’ve made in my 25 years in this business, I can assure you it falls short of the moribund product you guys contaminated the state of Arizona with over the previous 4 months…

You found a scapegoat in your coach, hid the real culprits and now trying to sell everyone on a sub .500 coach who should be on The Bachelor. No matter! Wishing you the best of luck. Certainly not rooting against Mr. Kingsbury. But I WILL be watching!
