It Sure Sounds Like Adam Vinatieri Is Going To Retire On Monday

Could this be how it ends for the greatest kicker in NFL history?

46-year-old Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri has struggled mightily this season including two missed extra points during the Colts 19-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans.

Following the game, Vinatieri released this cryptic statement about an “announcement” that he will make on Monday and some are speculating that Vinatieri will announce his retirement:

Adam Vinatieri, who missed 2 extra points; walked out the locker room only to say, “You’ll hear from me tomorrow.” When reminded players’ day off he said, “Yeah you will (hear from me Monday”

Just grabbed Adam Vinatieri was he headed to the bus. He said “you’ll here from me tomorrow.” I told him we don’t see him tomorrow. And he said, “Yeah, you will.”

Vinatieri who entered the league in 1996 has struggled this season. The man with the record for points, field goals made and consecutive makes, has missed two kicks inside of 30 yards and four extra points in the last two games.

Last three games, Adam Vinatieri has missed four PAT's and two field goals of even shorter distance: 23 and 29 yards.

If this is it for Vinatieri, he will go down as the greatest kicker, ever and will be a sure-fire hall of famer.
