The NFL instituted a rule a new few years back banning players picking opposing players up and slamming them to the ground.
Amongst many other safety concerns, this is one of the main reasons why.
Jack Cincy was picked up and slammed down by a Rams special teammer during Sunday’s game, and when the linebacker extended his arm down to break his fall, the weight of his body combed with the defender snapped his elbow, dislocating it and leaving his arm seemingly on backwards as he lay on the ground.
