Referees Cost Lions The Game With Two Horrible Penalties

This is getting bad.

The referees during tonight’s Lions-Packers game in Green Bay cost the Lions a chance to win the game after two horrible “illegal hands to the face” penalties.

Both penalties were on Lions DE Trey Flowers.

The first occurred on a 3rd down where the Packers failed to convert. The flag gave the Packers a first down and they were able to score a touchdown on that drive.

The second occurred late in the fourth quarter and gave the Packers a first time and they were able to run out the clock and kick a game winning field goal instead of giving the Lions the ball back with a chance to lead a game-winning drive:

The Packers were able to win the game 23-22 but all the talk after the game was on the officiating.
