Chiefs Got Their 4th And 1 Spin Play From The 1948 Rose Bowl

Kansas City went old, old, old school when studying film preparing for Super Bowl LIV.

One of the plays that the Chiefs called at the goal line was straight out fo the 1948 Rose Bowl Game between Michigan and USC. The trick play involved the offense lining up before spinning over to the right to throw the defense off and allow running back Damien Williams to sneak through the middle for a crucial first down.

It was after the game that Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy told reporters where the team got the idea:

It was plays like this that helped the Chiefs overcome a 20-10 deficit in the Super Bowl to defeat the San Francisco 49ers.
