Bears’ Cassius Marsh Calls Out Referee Over Hip Check: “I Thought That Was Inappropriate”

The NFL owes the Chicago Bears an explanation.

During the Bears-Steelers Monday Night Football game in Pittsburgh, Bears defensive end Cassius Marsh was called for a controversial taunting penalty that helped the Steelers extend the drive.

But what was more controversial was what head referee Tony Correntee did to Marah prior to throwing the ridiculous flag.

Replay showed Correntee leaning in to Marsh prior to reaching for flag, making contact with the Bears defensive end as he was running off the field:

Marsh was asked about this after the game and he did not hold back, calling the hip check “incredibly inappropriate”:
