Ed Orgeron is back in the mix of college football.
Fans online were going crazy after the former LSU head coach showed up to Cajun Field to watch the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns take on the Eastern Michigan Eagles.
Alongside him was his new girlfriend.
We haven’t heard much from Coach O but he did pop by the Little Rock Touchdown Club to talk about what happened in Baton Rouge and what comes next, dropping one of the all-time great Coach O quotes in the process.
The LSU Tigers decided to let him go, but it was not without cost though, as they owed him over $17 million on his contract.
“I am grateful for my time at LSU… Coaches got a shelf. Some coaches get 50 years, some get 12 years, I got six. Good. We had a meeting and they said ‘it’s not going well.’ No shit… ya’ll can see that brother… They said ‘coach (Orgeron), you got $17.1 million on your contract and we are going to give it to you.’ What time do you want me to leave and what door do you want me out of, brother?’”
As for as his personal life, Orgeron divorced his wife of 23 years in early 2020 shortly after signing a six-year, $42-million extension.
