Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Grady Jarrett made a huge play on Sunday that got negated by a terrible call, which led to his team’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
Jarrett was rushing Bucs quarterback Tom Brady and ended up sacking him to the ground. Instead of the Falcons getting the ball with a chance to win, Jarrett got called for roughing the passer.
Jerome Boger, the ref who made the call, actually defended it following the game. He was asked about it and said that Brady was “unnecessarily thrown to the ground.”
Atlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson would take to Twitter on Sunday and change his profile pick to that ref.
Patterson has been the Falcons top rusher in 2022, currently with 340 yards and three touchdowns on 58 carries in four games.
With this crushing loss, the Falcons move to 2-3 on the year.
