38 days after suffering a concussion on December 28th against the Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has finally cleared concussion protocol and can resume his football career.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Tua is officially out of concussion protocol after meeting with several medical professionals. All of them are confident that he will be 100% when the 2023 season begins.
Tagovailoa went into the protocol for the second time after the Dolphins lost to the Green Bay Packers on Christmas Day (Dec 25th). The injury forced him to miss the remainder of the season and the Dolphins’ Wild Card playoff game against the Buffalo Bills.
He went into the protocol for the first time after the Dolphins lost to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 29. That one forced him to miss the next three games before he returned against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 23.
All indications are that Tua will continue his NFL career and not retire despite the concussion scares.
