Roger Goodell On The NFL’s Officiating: “I Don’t Think It’s Ever Been Better”

The NFL has officiating problem if you ask just about everyone.. except Roger Goodell.

During his yearly press conference at the Super Bowl, the NFL commissioner was asked about his thoughts about the league’s officiating and while many of the media members in attendance was expecting Goodell to somewhat address the issue, he did the exact opposite.

Goodell said officiating has “never been better.”

With two more head coach openings in this hiring cycle, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said he believes there has been “progress” with minority hiring, but it’s “never enough” and there’s “more work ahead of us.”

There’s been a ton of issues with officiating, primarily with the handling of roughing the passer. More recently, the AFC Championship Game game under heavy criticism after how many calls went the Chiefs’ way against the Bengals.
