REPORT: Sean Payton Interviewed Rex Ryan For Broncos Defensive Coordinator Job

Sean Payton made the move from television back to the sidelines and now he’s trying to turn another coach turned TV personality back to the sidelines.

According to FOX Sports Jay Glazer, the new Denver Broncos head coach interviewed former Jets and Bills head coach and current ESPN NFL analyst Rex Ryan for the team’s vacant defensive coordinator job.

Payton has no prior experience working with Rex, but Payton did have Rex’s brother, Ryan on his coaching staff in New Orleans. Rob Ryan was the Saints defensive coordinator from 2013 to 2015.

This would be a pretty sweet hire for the Broncos considering Rex’s defenses have always been stellar regardless where he was.
