Regardless what you think of him, you’re about to see a lot of him on your television this football season.
ESPN announced that Pat McAfee will be joining ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” ahead of the 2026 season. The 39-year-old is expected to serve as one of the new members on the set, which will featured Scott Van Pelt, Jason Kelce, Marcus Spears and Jason McCourty.
It marks yet another role McAfee will play at the network, who is reportedly negotiation a deal with him that would pay him roughly $60-$65 million per year.
In addition to this role, McAfee will also appear on his own daily show and on Saturday’s “College GameDay.” By making appearances on “Monday Night Countdown,” McAfee could be in line to play a prominent role in the network’s Super Bowl coverage in February.
While McAfee will appear on ESPN ahead of “Monday Night Football” games, there’s no indication he will appear on broadcasts just yet. The “Monday Night Football” broadcast booth will continue to feature Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.
As for McAfee, his “Monday Night Countdown” debut should come in Week 1, when the Kansas City Chiefs host the Denver Broncos on ESPN.
