REPORT: Lawsuit Claims Dwayne Haskins Was Allegedly Drugged, Robbed And Extorted Before Tragic Death

A lawsuit filed by the family of the late Dwayne Haskins includes some disturbing allegations.

According to the Associated Press, the estate of the former NFL quarterback reached an agreement on a “partial settlement” in their “lawsuit against the driver, the owner and the broker of the dump truck that struck and killed Haskins.”

In the lawsuit, there are disturbing allegations which claim that the former Washington and Pittsburgh quarterback “was drugged, robbed and extorted before” his tragic passing on Apr. 9, 2022:

“The family’s lawsuit alleges that Haskins was drugged, robbed and extorted before he was fatally struck while standing drunk on a highway after running out of gas. Toxicology reports showed that Haskins was legally drunk when he was hit by the truck on I-595. Separate samples taken from his body had blood alcohol levels of .20 and .24, both of which are above the legal limit of .08 in Florida.”

The former Ohio State star was killed after getting hit by a dump truck while he tried passing Interstate 595 close to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Just a couple of weeks earlier, Haskins celebrated his one-year wedding anniversary with his wife, Kalabrya.

In his final season of college football, Haskins won the Kellen Moore Award, the Sammy Baugh Trophy as well as Graham–George Offensive Player of the Year and Griese–Brees Quarterback of the Year honors.

Washington drafted Haskins 15th overall in 2019. He appeared in 16 games over his two seasons with the club, who released him in the middle of the 2020 season. Haskins subsequently signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers and later agreed to a restricted free agent tender a month before his passing.
