DJ Moore is having himself a big night but he should be having an even bigger night if it weren’t for the referees.
Late in the 3rd quarter of Thursday Night’s Bears-Commanders game at FedEx Field, Moore caught a pass and broke free, running down the sidelines with nothing but green in front of him. After evading a Commanders defender, the referee blew the play dead, claiming Moore stepped out of bounds.
Replay shows that Moore might have still been in bounds. Why would the referee blow the play dead when they can review it?
The Bears are holding onto a 30-20 lead in the 4th quarter as they try to get their first win of the season. Hopefully this doesn’t cost them.
