Deflate Gate Part 2: Chiefs And Patriots Played With Under-Inflated Football During Game

Deflate Gate Part II

During the first half of the New England Patriots-Kansas City Chiefs game at Gillette Stadium last Sunday, both special team units were using footballs that were under-inflated by two pounds, according to Mark Daniels of Mass Live.

Referees reportedly took the balls into the locker room and discovered they weighed 11 pounds per square inch instead of the NFL’s legal limit between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds.

Both kickers – Patriots’ Chad Ryland and Chiefs’ Harrison Butler – missed field goal attempt in the first with Butker missing from 39 yards and Ryland from 41 yards.

Officials resolved the issue at halftime, and the footballs weren’t a problem in the final two quarters.

The Chiefs ended up winning the game, 27-17.
