Dak Prescott was one of the best quarterback’s in the NFL during the regular season, earning second-team All-Pro honors. Unfortunately, the postseason wasn’t so great.

Prescott finished with 403 yards and three touchdowns in the Cowboys’ 48-32 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. A lot of Prescott’s numbers came in garbage time with the score 48-16 and the Packers taking their starters out of the game. Dak threw two interceptions including one that was returned for a touchdown to give the Packers a 27-0 lead.

The loss will likely come with major ramifications for both Prescott’s future and head coach Mike McCarthy. According to Jane Slater of NFL Network, who spoke with many Cowboys’ players on anonymity, many players still believe in McCarthy and what he’s built in Dallas but the same can’t be said for Prescott.

“Another player was frustrated with a stubbornness to stick to schemes on both sides of the ball,” wrote Slater on Twitter/X. “Motion offenses killing defenses and concern that Dak panics when first read (is) not there.”

Following the report, many Cowboys fans speculated that it was CeeDee Lamb who criticized Lamb, but Slater was quick to shoot that assumption down.

The Cowboys are entering a very important offseason as they have a lot of decisions to make. Prescott is set to have a $55.4 million cap hit in 2024, the likeliest outcome would be a contract extension to lower that figure but that would mean a longer commitment to Dak.
