RUMOR: Chiefs Could ‘Go After’ Bill Belichick If Andy Reid Retires After The Season

Many people believed that Bill Belichick would find himself in Atlanta as the next head coach of the Falcons but after they hired Raheem Morris, it seems like Belichick will have to wait a year before finding a new job.

Unless Andy Reid retires. Craig Carton of FOX Sports predicts that Andy Reid will retire after the season, which could lead to Belichick replacing him.

“I think Bill Belichick will be the next head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs next year. I think that’s where he goes after Andy Reid retires after this year,” Carton said.

This isn’t the only person to connect Belichick to the Chiefs. ESPN’s Adam Schefter says that Reid could possibly walk away from Kansas City if the Chiefs won the Super Bowl

“This is purely speculative, I want to be very clear and we’re just throwing this out there having some fun,” Schefter said. “We’ve heard over and over about the possibility that at some point in time, Andy Reid could walk away from football. So, if the Chiefs were to win the Super Bowl this year, would that make him more likely to walk? And if he did walk, at that point in time and you’re the Kansas City Chiefs, and Bill Belichick was still sitting out there, would that not be an interesting possibility if that’s what Andy Reid decided to do?”

The Chiefs will travel to Baltimore to take on the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game.
