The Atlanta Falcons made one of the most shocking picks in NFL Draft history by selecting Michael Penix Jr. in the first round (No. 8 overall).

The pick is shocking considering the Atlanta Falcons signed QB Kirk Cousins to a four-year, $180 million contract that included $100 million guaranteed.

The move seemed to even stun Falcons owner Arthur Blank as camera caught an interaction between Blank and team GM Terry Fontenot.
