Ricky Pearsall might be the first rookie to win CPOTY.
The 49ers rookie who was drafted by the team out of Florida with the 31st overall pick was robbed at gunpoint following an autograph session last weekend in downtown San Francisco.
Pearsall was shot in the chest, and not only did he survive, he wounded the assailant with his own weapon, walked to the ambulance with medical personnel arrived, and did so all while wearing the gold Rolex the culprit was after.
Pearsall was transported to a local medical center where he remained in serious, but stable condition for the night.
It seemed like astonishing news when the WR was released just one day later, but even crazier is Pearsall was reportedly back in the 49ers weight room less than 24 hours after being discharged.
Chest day perhaps? Too soon?
