Memphis Tigers Player Suffered Gruesome Injury While Doing Cristiano Ronaldo Celebration

Memphis wide receiver Demeer Blankumsee was having a career day before celebrating his second touchdown a little too hard.

During the second quarter, while leading 17-14 with just under nine minutes remaining, Blankumsee caught a deep ball from quarterback Seth Henigan for a 69-yard touchdown to extend the lead.

To celebrate the touchdown, Blankumsee paid homage to soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo by doing his popular Siu celebration. However, the move did not go as planned, as the senior wide out landed very awkwardly on his left leg, causing it to bend in an awkward direction.

Before the apparent injury, Blankumsee had recorded six catches for a career-high 142 yards and two touchdowns. Up until the game against UTSA, the former Toledo product hadn’t recorded substantial numbers on the box score, tallying 28 catches for 335 yards and three touchdowns on the season.
