Arch Manning’s grandfather, Archie Manning, was recently asked where he prefers his grandson to play in the National Football League whenever he gets drafted.
“I hope he’ll play [the next] three years at Texas…” the 75-year-old answered in a video posted to social media before revealing his answer. “It’s funny, nobody’s ever asked me that. Right off the bat, if somebody asked me, I’d say Cowboys.”
Could you imagine?
Archie, himself, played in the NFL for 14 years and is famously known for getting Eli Manning to play for the New York Giants. Back in 2004, Archie was the driving force in getting Eli traded from the Chargers because they didn’t want him playing in San Diego.
We’ll see if Archie can flex his muscles and get grandson Arch to go where he wants. But for now, Arch and the Texas Longhorns are preparing for an SEC Championship Game against the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday.
