REPORT: Woody Johnson Told Mike White ‘You F–king Suck” After Playing Through Injury During 2022 Season

The highlighted story from the latest piece by The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, Zack Rosenblatt and Michael Silver about the New York Jets dysfunction was the fact that team owner Woody Johnson used Madden ratings to nix a trade that would’ve sent Jerry Jeudy to the Jets but there’s so much more.

According to the report, there was an incident during the 2022 season when former Jets quarterback Mike White played through broken ribs in a disappointing loss to the Seattle Seahawks that ended the team’s chances of making the playoffs. When White threw his helmet onto the locker room floor and went to the showers after the game, multiple Jets players reportedly heard Johnson say, “You should throw your helmet, you f–king suck.”

What made it worse was Johnson’s statement got to White and Johnson was forced to apologize to the signal-caller. That offseason, White decided to sign with the Miami Dolphins.

Johnson returned as the team’s chairman and CEO in January 2021 after serving as U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom during Donald Trump’s first term as president. Amid a disappointing 2024 season, Woody Johnson fired both head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas.

The future of the team’s veteran signal-caller Aaron Rodgers remains in doubt so the Jets could enter an offseason looking for a new general manager, head coach and quarterback.

Who would want to take those jobs knowing this is how Woody Johnson operates?
