Browns GM Andrew Berry Says he Won’t Trade Myles Garett No Matter What Teams Offer

Myles Garrett won’t be going anywhere this offseason.

Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry met with reporters at the Senior Bowl and emphatically declared that he won’t trade Browns’ future Hall of Famer and reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

He was asked specifically, “if someone sees you at dinner tonight and says, ‘we’ll give you two ones for miles do you say I’m not interested?’”

“Correct,” he said. “You can put that on the record.”

Berry also said he’s definitely open to the contract extension that Garrett seems to have hinted at desiring at the end of the season. He’s under contract through 2026 at $25 million a year, fifth-highest among NFL edge rushers.

“I don’t want to go into contract discussions. I wouldn’t do that publicly,” Berry told Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “But I think you can assume that we do anticipate at some point doing a third contract with Myles. We want him to retire here.”

The Browns suffered a disappointing season, as the team went 3-14 a year after making the playoffs and Garrett voiced his frustration with the team’s direction at the end of the season.
