Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson was a late scratch from Sunday’s 31-27 win over the Arizona Cardinals after hs offered an eye injury during pre-game warmups.
“Richardson was doing warmups with elastic bands when a mishap resulted in him being hit in the eye,” the Colts announced. Head coach Shane Steichen told reporters after the game that Richardson suffered an orbital fracture and spent the game at the hospital.
The injury caused Richardson to be demoted to QB3 behind Daniel Jones and Riley Leonard.
Richardson has been plagued by health issues since Indianapolis selected him with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, appearing in just 15 regular-season games across the first two years of his budding career.
