Fred Warner’s season is over.
Following the 49ers’ 30-19 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kyle Shanahan revealed to reporters that Fred Warner suffered a dislocated and broken ankle and will undergo season-ending surgery.
Warner was injured on the Buccaneers’ second drive of the game, when 49ers safety Ji-Ayir Brown rolled up on Warner’s ankle, which bent at a gruesome angle.
With Warner out the 49ers struggled against the Buccaneers offense. The Bucs scored touchdowns on three straight drives with Warner out.
