Penn State has fired head coach James Franklin following an embarrassing loss to Northwestern on Saturday.
According to Pete Thamel, firing Franklin will cost Penn State more than $49 million.
The move comes with Penn State on a three game losing streak with two embarrassing back-to-back losses to UCLA and Northwestern.
Franklin leaves State College with a 104-45 record since 2014 when he took the job. He is 128-60 overall as a head coach, which includes his three-year stint at Vanderbilt (24-15).
