Jets Owner Woody Johnson Takes Huge Shot At Justin Fields While Defending Aaron Glenn Amid 0-7 Start (VIDEO)

Woody Johnson is at it again, making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

In his first public appearance since the start of the NFL season, Jets owner Woody Johnson expressed a level of optimism for his new head coach Aaron Glenn, despite the 0-7 start.

“I see what you see, but I see more hope than you do,” Johnson said, speaking to a gaggle of reporters. “You can’t win with hope, but it helps… I do believe in Aaron,” Johnson said. “If I were a player I’d respond to him, because he’s the real deal.”

But the vote of confidence did not make his way to Justin Fields. In-fact, Woody ripped his quarterback to shreds which all but signals that a benching is coming.

“It’s hard when you have a quarterback with a rating that … he has the ability but something is just not [jibing,]” Johnson said. “But if you look at any head coach with a quarterback like that you’re going to see similar results if you go across the league, you have to play consistently at that position and that’s what we’re going to try to do for the remainder of the season.”

The Jets are once again dealing with a mess with their quarterback situation. Glenn declined to commit to Fields as the starter following Sunday’s 13-6 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

After Woody’s comments, all indications are that a switch to Tyrod Taylor is coming.
