The Dallas are moving on from cornerback Trevon Diggs just two years after they signed him to a five-year, $97 million contract extension.
The move comes with the team headed towards their season finale against the New York Giants.
If a team claims Diggs off waivers, they would be on the hook for the $472K he is due in base salary for Week 18, plus $58,823 if he is active this week.
Diggs has no guaranteed money on his deal beyond this season.
Diggs, 27, was the Cowboys’ second round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and was once viewed as a cornerstone piece but injuries have derailed that.
He missed the majority of the season with a concussion that he suffered in a home accident.
