The Miami Dolphins are located in Miami Gardens, Florida. Needless to say Miami Gardens gets two of a lot of things, rain and sun. The Dolphins have thrown around the idea of placing a partial roof on top of the majority of the 75,000 seat stadium, but the final plans are now in place and construction for whats being called the ‘Modernization of Sun Life Stadium’ has begun. The Dolphins have been under pressure from the league to place a roof on the stadium if they want to host another Super Bowl, as we know Super Bowl XLI took place during a downpour.
The major changes include obviously the large pavilion style roofing that will protect about 70% of the stadium’s fans from the sun and rain, the memorable orange seats will be exchanged for aqua ones, and the two large scoreboards that were located above both end zones will be replaced in turn for 4 smaller ones located in the corners of the stadium. To compensate for the lost seating for the scoreboards, the seats will be moved 24 feet closer to the playing field. Other changes include interior renovations. The stadium will also receive a new cooperate name, and hope to place a bid for another Super Bowl in the next decade.
Have a look, does the roof rendering seem like an appealing design to you? Feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the page!

The stadium is also home to the Miami Hurricanes football team, who’s famed Orange Bowl was demolished because of info infrastructure issues and age. The team will have a large screen placed over a section of the seat in the end zone upper levels to draw in the disproportionate size of the stadium with the number of fans.
The team hopes for all renovations to be completed before the 2015 season begins.
