Johnny Manziel’s first stop on his road back to the NFL was in The Spring League.
On Saturday, the former Cleveland Browns quarterback made his debut in the developmental league and showed flashes of his talent, which looked like vintage Johnny Football during his Heisman days:
Johnny Manziel (@jmanziel2) reminded us yesterday how electrifying he can be. Welcome back, sir. Many more good times ahead. #comebackszn #TheSpringLeague pic.twitter.com/k1MpLfmQqR

Manziel played in about two quarters of his team’s loss and completed 9 of 15 pass attempts for 82 yards and a touchdown pass.
Apparently, Manziel’s play is garnering attention from NFL execs:
The word I keep hearing from NFL execs is “potential.” They think Manziel’s potential is off the charts.
But I just don’t see it.— mike freeman (@mikefreemanNFL) April 8, 2018
