
The life of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has been well documented in various ways but the latest way will be more dramatic.
FX has released ‘American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez’, a drama-series that will portray invodivudals in Hernandez’s football career and later in his life as a criminal.
The 10-episode series will confuse on the rise ands all of Hernandez, form his time as a national champion with the Florida Gators to playing in the Super Bowl with the Patriots.
It will also chronicle the end of Hernandez’s life, including being charged with and later convicted of first-degree murder. The show will also focus on Hernandez’s death, as he died from an apparent suicide in 2019.
The show is produced by Ryan Murphy, who also created the “American Crime Story” series that has focused on O.J. Simpson, Andrew Cunanan and Monica Lewinsky.
Hernandez will be played by Josh Andres Rivera, who has appeared in films like “West Side Story” and the most recent “Hunger Games” movie.
Patrick Schwarzenegger will play Tim Tebow, a college teammate of Hernandez’s and a fellow national championship winner at Florida.
Other prominent figures from around the NFL and college football will be featured in the series, such as Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft, Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and Urban Meyer.
Murphy’s previous shows based on real-life events were often based on books, and the Hernandez story is no different. The new series will draw from “Gladiator: Aaron Hernandez and Football Inc.”
