Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis has played better since returning from a shoulder injury that casued him to miss three games, and he’s in a place where he can even make fun of himself.
“I haven’t thrown the ball underhand or chest-passed it, so that’s an improvement,” Levis joked with reporters Thursday when asked about his improvements.
Earlier in the season, Levis had several viral moments because of his ill-advised throws or mind-numbing turnovers.
His most notable mistake came in the Titans’ Week 1 loss to the Chicago Bears when he just flicked the ball to the sidelines only for Tyrique Stevenson to pick it off and return it for what proved to be the game-winning touchdown.
Levis fell to his knees with his hands on his helmet as the play happened:
The Titans signal-caller had five touchdown passes to seven interceptions through his first five games before he was sidelined with the setback. In the two games since, he has three touchdown passes to one interception.
He also threw for a season-best 295 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
On Sunday, Levis will look to get a signature win against the Titans’ AFC South rival Houston Texans.
