Each time Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady get to another Super Bowl, the unanswerable debate of ‘is he the greatest of all-time?’ always takes the forefront. One of those quarterbacks appears to have the answer to the debate, and himself is not the answer.
Tom Brady won his fifth Super Bowl ring just a few weeks ago, which was meaningless in his cementing his greatness, but to some was crucial in deciding if in fact he was the greatest to ever play his position.
Aaron Rodgers, who was one win away from facing Brady and the Patriots in the big game, watched Super Bowl LI, and had heavy praise from Brady when is was all said & done:
“Fantastic Super Bowl. I felt bad for Matt. Getting to know him over the years, he is a fantastic guy; he had an incredible MVP season and sitting there 28-3 I think everybody watching and probably at the game was thinking ‘Atlanta’s gonna get their ring sized up here pretty soon.’ So that was disappointing.”
“From a fan’s perspective, what a great game to watch and to see Tom and his greatness on display one more time. I mean, he didn’t need to win that to prove that he’s the G.O.A.T., but just another part of his legacy there.”
Though Aaron Rodgers may be the greatest ‘thrower of the football ever’ among guy’s like Marino, Brady’s continued success make it more and more difficult to say he isn’t the greatest, especially when greats like Rogers say so himself.
