Utah Jazz Star Donovan Mitchell Has Tested Positive For Coronavirus

The NBA announced that they were postponing the season late Wednesday night after Jazz center Rudy Gobert test positive for Coronavirus.

The league hit the pause button the season to avoid any players who had come in contact with Gobert from contracting the illness and of course attempting to limit the spread to fans and staffers and between fans and staffers.

Apparently it was caught too late.

NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted Thursday morning that star Jazz teammate Donovan Mitchel has tested positive for Coronavirus, likely after being in contact with Gobert.

Woj added that Gobert had been careless about spreading what he had leading up to the positive test. The report following the video that went viral Wednesday which showed Gobert joking touching microphones and recorders after a press conference to make light of the virus.

Jazz players were quarantined and individually tested after Wednesday night’s game against the Thunder was cancelled moments before tip off.

Mitchell was the only Jazz player or employee tested who came back positive, with 58 tests being administered.
