ESPN has struck out in their hopes to lure Peyton Manning and Drew Brees onto their Monday Night Football team, but they could be looking at a guy, who amongst the younger population, may be more popular than either of the two.
According to a report from Front Office Sports’ Michael McCarthy, the network is considering four current employees for the gig.
“At the top of the list are football analysts Louis Riddick and Dan Orlovsky, “SportsCenter” anchor-turned announcer Steve Levy, and former punter and fast-rising media personality Pat McAfee. Like nearly every company, ESPN and parent Disney have been hurt financially by the pandemic.”
McAfee, former punter for the Colts and current sports analyst/podcaster/comedian was given the gig of helping call an NFL game for FOX in 2018, with praise from viewers.
