Connor Hughes of NJ Advance Media noted on Thursday that the team’s 2016 2nd round pick had a few way-off throws, saying “In the three media-open OTAs, Hackenberg hit reporters with passes twice.”

Hackenberg failed to even see the field during his rookie season, completing just 36.2% of his passes with one touchdown and two interceptions during the preseason.
Hackenberg is battling Josh McCown and Bryce Petty for the team’s position of starting interception thrower.
