JJ Watt, one of the best, if not the best all-around players in the NFL and loved by football fans everywhere.
…but that was not always the case.
JJ Watt the Wisconsin DE and Central Michigan TE transfer was an undoubtably an elite college football player. It’s just that Texans fans didn’t quite see it that way.
It seems that every time Roger Goodell calls a pick out at the annual NFL Draft, an uproar of boos ensure whether it be in Radio City Music Hall or Chicago’s Grant Park. The footage from the official draft parties usually held at the teams practice facilities differs though with cheers and high-fives. But not that one time the Texans picked All-Pro Perennial Pro-Bowl MVP Runner-Up DE out of Wisconsin, JJ Watt.
Houston fans emphatically booed Watt’s selection with the 11th pick. They didn’t just boo him. They booed the hell out of him. It was almost like Texans fans knew who the team was going to pick and had their boos ready for the second that first J or his name was mustered from the mouth of commissioner Goodell.
The fans at the Texans draft party didn’t just voice their displeasure, Houston fans were in uproar on the team’s social media accounts including these screenshots from Facebook after the Texans announced their pick via a post.
Obviously these fans look embarrassingly dumb at this point in time, but to their defense, nobody is a fortune teller, but I don’t think Texans fans will be booing any draft picks this bad anytime soon.
