Former Vikings DE Jared Allen took a trip to Seattle Friday of last week and it was reported by multiple sources that he would sign with the defending champion Seahawks. Then, to deal held off and Allen said he would make his final decision over the weekend, and sitting here Tuesday morning, Allen released a statement that he would be signing with the division rival Chicago Bears, a team who’s defensive line will now be filled with veteran perennial pro-bowlers.
Some question his motives as a free agent, noting that he would retire if he was not interested in any offers, as well as apparently choosing money over a better chance at a Super Bowl ring. Only time will tell for Allen and the Bears.
