According to sources, the Dallas Cowboys have scheduled a visit with a wide receiver who has speed like no other. Literally.

How fast? How about Chris Johnson doesn’t even come close fast.

Jerry Jones and the Cowboys are in the market for a speedy wide receiver that can compliment all-pro stud Dez Bryant out wide with nagging injury issues at the position and Terrance Williams in the final year of his rookie contract. We think they may have found their guy.

Texas Tech 5-6, 170 pound WR Jakeen Grant held his pro-day at Tech last week, where he ran an unheard of 4.10 40-yard dash. To put that into perspective, Chris Johnson, the current NFL combine record holder ran a relatively measly 4.21. Oh and Bo Jackson, a snail speed 4.12.

According to NFL Network’s Rand Getlin, it’s being reported that Dallas has scheduled a team visit with Grant.

But it’s not all about speed – As a Red Raider in 2014 , Grant racked up 90 receptions for 1,268 yards and 10 touchdowns, adding in 39 kickoff returns for 1,017 yards, two of those 39 taken back to the house. Grant ranked third in the nation in all-purpose yards.

But back to the speed…

A New Orleans Saints scout claimed he recorded hand-timed recorded Grant running the 4.10 40. Texas Tech officially listed Grant’s 40-time as a 4.34, but a video of the sprint shows the 4.10 may not have been a fluke.

Here’s a highlight tape of the wide receiver during his time at Texas Tech.

Though he may have been the fastest WR to declare for the NFL draft, Grant wasn’t even invited to the NFL’s Scouting Combine in February and is projected to go undrafted, ranked as the 140th best WR in his class.

If only Al Davis was still alive, this kid might have gone int he first round.
