LA Rams Didn’t Break News Of #1 Pick Trade Yesterday, “Day Belonged To Kobe”

Kobe

LOS ANGELES, CA – Thursday morning’s sports coverage was basketball loaded, after arguably the greatest regular season basketball day ever went down. The Golden State Warriors broke the seemingly untouchable Bulls 72-10 record while Kobe dropped 60 in his final NBA game ever.

Early Thursday morning, news of another kind broke, some from the NFL. the Tennessee Titans traded from the #1 overall pick in the NFL draft to the Los Angeles Rams, the first trade of the #1 pick in 12 years.

According to all reports from analysts and writers, the Rams seem to have fallen in love with North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz. Adam Schefter noted the Rams have been, “plotting this move for weeks.”

Many draft experts had the Browns taking Wentz with the second pick, who seemed to be a lock with the Titans already having a QB in Marcus Mariotta at #1.

The Rams will also receive a fourth-round pick (No. 113) and sixth-round pick (No. 177). In exchange, the Titans will receive the 15th overall pick this year, two second-round picks (Nos. 43 and 45), and a third-round pick (No. 76). Tennessee will also get Los Angeles’ first-round pick and third-round pick in 2017.

The trade went down Wednesday, but we all know the sports world was just a tad busy.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Mike Silver, the trade went down yesterday, but was kept quiet by both organizations, primarily the Rams out of respect to what was dubbed, ‘Mamba Day’, Kobe’s final game.

Rams head coach Jeff Fisher was born in Culver City, California, so as a LA native, what a cool gesture it was – especially considering the amount of secrecy that needed to go into a trade of this magnitude with the over-reaching media world of today.

With 60 points and a night many will never forget, it was now time for the NFL news to take the floor.
