High School Football Players Lay On Their Backs With Hands Up During Anthem With Kaepernick In Attendance

One of the main platforms for Colin Kaepernick’s protests was that of police brutality. His argument was fueled last week when two black men where fatally shot by police in Tusla and Charlotte. Protests have escalated from the 49ers QB to kneeling during the National Anthem to players everywhere across the country following suit no matter the age or sport.

On Friday night it was taken to whole new level.

Oakland’s Castlemont High School’s football players didn’t take a knee, didn’t just stand with their fists raised, but laid on their backs with their hands up during the playing of the National Anthem.

Colin Kaepernick was even in attendance, you can see him faintly in the background. He talked to the team postgame:

There will surely be a much more substantial amount of players kneeling during the anthem this NFL Sunday, as even teams like the NY Giants who stood in entirety are now considering protesting.
