Houston Texans Trade QB Brock Osweiler To The Cleveland Browns

In just the span of a few years, Brock Osweiler has gone from backing up one of the greatest of all-time, to being the most overpaid of all-time, to now being on quite possibly the worst team of all-time. What a ride.

The Texans, as obvious by the move today, admittedly made a mistake on their big money gamble for the Broncos backup quarterback last offseason.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team is sending Osweiler to the Cleveland Browns along with a 2018 second-round draft pick to relieve themselves of his massive contract along with a 2017 sixth-round pick.

In return, the Browns will ship only a 2017 fourth-round pick to Houston.

The move will save the Texans $10 million in cap space, presumably in hopes to either trade or sign for Cowboys QB Tony Romo.

The Browns, who can afford Osweiler’s contract have sent QB Josh McCown to Dallas, with Robert Griffin III still remaining on their roster.
