The New England Patriots hav agreed to a three-year deal with former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brian Hoyar, according ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

Hoyer was released by the 49ers on Tuesday after San Francisco traded former Patriots backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in exchange for a 2018 second-round draft pick.

Hoyer signed a 2-year, $12 million contract with the 49ers last offseason with $9 million guaranteed. He started the team’s first six games of the season but was benched in favor of rookie C.J. Beathard.

He also spent time with the Steelers, Cardinals, Browns, Texans, Bears and 49ers.
