Caldwell-Pope is allowed to leave the Detention Center for practice and Lakers games in California under a work-release program, but must wear a GPS monitor outside the facility.
The arrest stems from KCP’s time with the Detroit Pistons, where he was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving last March in Auburn Hills, Michigan after police say he was driving 45 MPH in a 25 MPH zone.
The Seal Beach Detention Center is a pay-to-stay facility that caters to wealthier offenders. It costs $120 a night for those on work release. Caldwell-Pope is allowed to leave the facility only for Lakers games and practices, with no out of state travel.

He was arrested after failing a sobriety test.
Caldwell-Pope has missed two road games so far and won’t travel for games in Houston on New Years Eve and will also miss the Timberwolves game in Minnesota on January 1st.
Caldwell-Pope is averaging 14.2 points this season. He signed a one-year, $18 million deal with the Lakers as a free agent in July.
