Last night, the Toronto Raptors made history, winning their franchise’s first NBA Championship, defeating the Golden State Warriors, 114-110.
Much of the Raptors success this season was due to the moves made by team exec Masai Ujiri, who gambled it all in trading for Kawhi Leonard and firing Dwayne Casey — the NBA’s reigning coach of the year.
When the clock struck zeros, Ujiri tried to get to the floor to celebrate with his players but unfortunately was denied access by one sheriff deputy in Oracle Arena.
An altercation ensued, which ultimately led to Masai allegedly slapping the police officer in the face.

According to the reports, Masai was stopped by the officer because he did not have proper credentials. The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office is currently calling the incident a misdemeanor battery of an officer. Both they and the Oakland Police Department are investigating the matter.
No arrests have been made but the case is expected to be handed over to the district attorney.
