The Toronto Raptors were spending Monday celebrating their first championship in franchise history when tragedy struck.
According to Toronto Police, they’re responding to reports of a woman shot at a fan rally for the Toronto Raptors as they celebrated the first NBA championship in franchise history.
People were seen running from Nathan Phillips Square in downtown Toronto shortly before 4 p.m. as speeches were taking place.:
Gunshots fired at the parade at the back south east corner of Nathan Phillips Square. One witness said four shots. Crowd ran. There is a victim down being given medical attention, surrounded by a crowd, and police are clearing people from the area. Speeches are still going on.
