Detroit Piston point guard Reggie Jackson is set to join the Los Angeles Clippers upon clearing waivers, sources say. The Lakers and Clippers both were actively pursuing Jackson, and the Clippers have won out. Jackson will buoy the second unit for the Clips and give them substantial firing power from the bench. With point guard Darren Collison already deciding not to come back to the NBA, Jackson was a huge get for the Clippers over the Lakers, as both are in need of a pg, while fighting to be the top squad in LA left standing at the end of the year.
The 29-year-old guard is averaging 14.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists while shooting 37.5 percent from the field, 40.4 percent from beyond the arc and 78.3 percent from the free-throw line.
