A 3rd Ravens RB Suffers A Season-Ending Injury: Gus Edwards Tears ACL In Practice

You can’t make this up.

Coming into Week 1, the Baltimore Ravens were already thin at running back after the team’s starter J.K. Dobbins tore his achilles during a preseason game against the Washington Football Team. The following week, the team lost backup running back Justice Hill tore his achilles as well during a preseason game vs New Orleans Saints.

The injuries at running back prompted the Ravens to sign free agent running back Le’Veon Bell to their practice squad and bump Gus Edwards to the starting role.

Well that plan went up in the wind when Edwards suffered a torn ACL during practice ahead of the team’s Week 1 game against the Las Vegas Raiders:

The Ravens remaining running backs are Trenton Cannon and Ty’Son Williams.
