The Raiders have gathered the information they need to officially release Henry Ruggs III.
The team drafted the star WR out of Alabama in 2020 with the No. 12 overall pick, and due to a fatal crash caused by Ruggs in the early hours of Tuesday morning, the promising future he had with Raiders has evaporated.
Ruggs was charged with DUI resulting in death after he struck a 23-year-old woman’s car a bit after 3 a.m. on Nov. 3. According to police, Ruggs was impaired and taken into custody after being treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
The Raiders have now officially released the WR after the charges.
Ruggs accounted for 21 percent of the Raiders passing game this season and leaves behind a 5-2 team atop their division.
